DOUBLE MATCH PREVIEW | EMLEY AFC (a) & GAINSBOROUGH TRINITY (h)

In an unusual turn of events Boro face two stiff tests within 24hrs of each other this midweek.
Whilst Boro are in great spirits at present, playing two tough midweek fixtures within 24hrs of each other is far from ideal and will certainly test their resolve.
Due to our involvement in the FA Cup in recent weeks, it has created us a fixture back log with an outstanding Lincolnshire FA County Cup fixture having to be played this week. This initially was seen as a serious dilemma for the club, with a league fixture away at 2nd placed Emley AFC, rightly being the most important game on the Tuesday. Then with an even tougher game against Step 3 side Gainsborough Trinity on Wednesday, could we expect the same XI to play again? Player welfare has rightly been considered and as a result this presents a superb opportunity for those fringe players, and those coming back from injury to be supplemented by the unquestionable young talent we have within the club. So an exciting week lies ahead with two intriguing fixtures.
First up sees an away trip to West Yorkshire in a real top of the table clash, as second plays third, with both sides enjoying a great start to the season and both coming into the game with wins at the weekend.
Last seasons corresponding fixture, virtually descended into chaos with dangerously strong winds making it near impossible to play football, and at one point Emleys goalkeepers, goal kick went out for a throw in right by his own corner flag!
The Wilderness Boys will be hoping to fair better this season than they did last as we lost both fixtures to Tuesday nights hosts.
Form Guide (last six games)
Emley AFC - DWDDWW
Grimsby Borough - DDWDDW
Then on Wednesday attention turns to the Lincolnshire FA County Cup as we welcome Step 3 side Gainsborough Trinity to Technicas Home of Grimsby Borough.
Our visitors will have half an eye on a big FA Cup fixture at the weekend so we expect a much changed line up, much like our own. So whislt it may not be both teams first choice XI on show, it doesn't make for any less of an intriguing fixture and a great opportunity to get your football fix under the lights for only £5 entry to all.
We look forward to seeing you all throught the week and a safe journey to all those travelling to both fixtures.
