Club Statement – First Team Management Update

Grimsby Borough Football Club is pleased to confirm our new First Team Management Team as we begin a new chapter.

We are delighted to welcome Tom Claisse as First Team Manager.

Tom brings extensive experience from a playing career spanning over 1,200 games across both the professional and non-league game. Beginning with Leeds United and Bradford City, he went on to enjoy a successful non-league career with clubs including Farsley Celtic, Bradford Park Avenue, Scarborough, Whitby and North Ferriby, achieving multiple promotions along the way.

Alongside his football career, Tom served in the Royal Air Force, captaining both the RAF and UK Military representative side for a decade while competing internationally. He has since moved into management with spells at Frickley and South Leeds, alongside gaining experience in player-coach roles across Steps 4 and 5.

Joining Tom as Assistant Manager is Danny East.

Danny began his professional career at Hull City before gaining Football League experience with Northampton Town and Gillingham achieving promotion and later spells at Portsmouth and Grimsby Town, where he was part of the side that secured promotion at Wembley.

He has since continued his career in the non-league game with clubs including Guiseley, Bradford Park Avenue, Alfreton Town and North Ferriby, achieving further promotions along the way. Alongside this, Danny has developed his coaching pathway, holding a UEFA B Licence and gaining experience across academy and youth environments.

This marks a fresh step forward for the club, and we know that change can bring new challenges. We thank our supporters, staff, fans, and everyone involved with the club for embracing this transition and for continuing to back us as we move forward onto tomorrows game against Silsden.
